Townhomes offer house-like options that are popular in today's market with buyers but their choices are limited in North Vancouver.

The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver breaks down North Vancouver into 35 neighborhoods of which most do not have townhome options for buyers to consider.

Demand continues to rise across the Metro Vancouver housing market.


There were 4,060 sales in March.  This is up almost 54% compared to last year and nearly 27% above the 10 year March average.


On the supply side, there were 5,968 homes listed for sale last month.  That is up 13% from last year and about 5% higher than the 10 year March average.

April apartment sale numbers in West Vancouver were not much different  from the month before, year-over-year and just above the Ten Year Monthly Average; 17,16, 16 and 15 respectively.

Apartment sale activity in North Vancouver was pretty darn good for April. Up 41.5% over the Ten Year Monthly Average, up about 51% over April 2014 however down from March by approximately 23%.

West Vancouver's detached house market recorded an improvement in sales, a continuing trend since January.  April was up about 10% over March, 41% over April 2014 and 75% stronger than the Monthly Ten Year Average (72).

New listings numbers in April were not too different than the month before (189 versus 182), down 21% from February (240) nonetheless still up 51% over the Monthly Ten Year Average... read more.

North Vancouver detached home sales this past April were down from the month before by 11% but still competitive and fast moving in favor of home sellers.


New listings in April were down 18% from March but still way ahead of the monthly 10 year average of 143 by 35%.
