Kelowna and area weakening sale activity not like other areas of Canada

Everytime I read a newspaper on-line this week real estate descriptors have a common theme..... "slump", "dip", "sink", "slowdown", "tumble", "chill".  Experts all agree that a weakening  housing sale trend is happening now not only in monthly totals but in prices nationally.  So of course, I startred crunching numbers from Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board to find out if Kelowna and area are on the same path as the national trend?  Simplely - yep!

2010 July vs June home sale totals.

  •  -30% national
  • -44.77% Kelowna, City of
  • -25.53% West Kelowna, District of
  • -40.56% Central Okanagan

 

 2010 July vs June average house price

  • -3.6% national
  • - 0.21%Kelowna, City of
  • +9.2% West Kelowna, District of
  • +8.32% Central Okanagan

 

Check back at the end of the this month to see if the above local numbers are improving or lessening further.
