
There is more to the Okanagan area than wine and golf! Time it right you can enjoy some great weekend music festivals that the Okanagan area offers. Here are few that have caught my attention:
July 29 to 31, 2011 is Vernon's Komasket Music Festival. This cultural music and dance celebrations on the west shores of Okanagan Lake is heading into its 10th year and this year featuring Jon Anderson, Buffy St. Marie, OKA, Sweatshop Union and more! For more info.....Click here

July 29 to 31, 2011 Kelowna's Center of Gravity. A beach festival on Kelowna's City Park beaches along Okanagan Lake. There are concerts every evening, DJs shows, bikini contests and over 150 pro athletes competing in five different sports: beach volleyball, freestyle mountain biking, BMX, wakeboarding and basketball. August 19 to 21, 2011 is Salmon Arm's Roots & Blues Festival. Located right in the heart of Salmon Arm at the 18 acre Salmon Arm Fair Grounds the festival which started in 1991 features folk, blues, world, alternative, roots and many other types of music. 2011 performers include Denmark's Afenguinn, Quebec's Afrikan Blues Project, B.C.'s Angela Roy, Yukon's Annie Lou and much more. September 9 to 11, 2011 is Penticton's Pentastic Hot Jazz Festival. Long list bands this year include St. Louis's Cornet Chop Suey, San Francisco's Tom Rigney & Flambeau, Sonoma's Gator Beat, New Orlean's Tom Hook Trio and more! For more info.....Click here
