One of the many benefits of living in the Okanagan!

The Okanagan celebrates four wine festivals each year ~ Spring, Summer and Fall as well as the Icewine Festival.  Yesterday was the beginning of the Okanagan ten day Fall Wine Festival of events in the heart of the grape harvest.

The Okanagan is B.C's. largest wine region and stretches over 235 km frrom Osoyoos to Oliver, Cawston, Keremeos, Okanagan Falls, Penticton, Naramata, Summerland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country, Vernon, Armstrong and finally to Salmon Arm.

Approximately 190,000 folks including myself will be attending festival and winery events September 30th to October 9th.

I always make a point to try a couple of events each season in Kelowna as well as in neighboring communities.  I must admit some of my fav often are outside Kelowna as they are smaller, unique and intimate!

If you're not here right now for the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival start planning for the next one.  Make sure to check not only the wine festival events but each winery for their respective events and  local restaurants for special venues.

Tip: I have learned to book early!
