An acronym is an abbreviation formed from initial letters, for example, Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board is known by the acronym 'OMREB' and Multiple Listing Service as 'MLS'.

Often my colleagues and I take for granted that you can easily decode the real estate-ese or otherwise know as real estate acronyms when you are perusing MLS or our websites.  Each real estate board may have their own area real estate acronyms.
