Serious strata buyers are active anytime of the year!

As we ushered in the new year Kelowna area January strata market activity was not unlike houses. Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board (OMREB) catagorizes strata to include apartments, timeshare, townhomes attached, detached and semi-attached.

Kelowna's 46 January strata transactions is down -9.8% compared to January 2011 and West Kelowna's 13 sales was up +116.67%.

January is typically a slow month for real estate but serious buyers have been taking advantage of the areas excess strata inventory - 813 Kelowna strata listings and 198 in West Kelowna.  These numbers are not unlike January 2011 with 825 and 187 respectively.

Kelowna's strata median sale price $306,250 increased +12.18% from January 2011 and West Kelowna's $265,900 edged up +2.96%.
